Is 14 too young to be getting a ring from a boy for Christmas? they say it is just a friendship ring.

It's just a ring. Rings don't have any importance if you don't attach some to them. That's like asking if you're too young to get a bracelet or something.

As long as the ring isn't too expensive, and you know and like the boy I think it is o.k. Of course I've never had a daughter and my son gave a girlfriend a "friendship" ring when he was about 18 and in college...that is my entire experience. It seems benign enough to me. :)
