Since you're from the West Coast, go somewhere on the East Coast. Boston, MA; Charleston, SC; Atlanta, GA; Rehobeth Beach, DE... Or you could get a big map of the US, and put it on the wall. Blindfold yourself and spin around a few times, walk to the map and point, and where you pick is where you go.

Sedona,AZ. Vegas
-
New York City. Fo sho. OR Las Vegas, Nevada. That's two exciting places right there. Man.
-
You are crazy, you are gonna fly and spend only one night.. You need your head examined. If it was me with the free ticket, I would go back to Dallas, I liked it there.
-
I would go to either one of the Hawaiian islands or Alaska. Oh, but for just one day...Vegas is always a good bet (no pun intended...really). Head to Florida and go to a Disney park. I love Boston. Maine is a beautiful place to visit. Seattle is wonderful. go to DC or visit the Smithsonian. Chicago is packed full of stuff to do. Is there a Hilton in Savahanna? Have to stay in the US, eh? (I would suggest Tornonto otherwise)

San Diego. The weather's nice. The ocean is beautiful. You can cross the border to TJ if you feel like it. It's a pretty laid back city, but there's plenty to do.
-
I wouldn't care....... I love to stay at the Hilton. As long as you and your wife agree. Someplace warm would be very nice. :) Have fun.
-
You can come see me :O) We have a Hilton right next to our airport, and the weather is great. If not, then I would go to either New York City and stay at the Waldorf or go to Arizona, I liked Phoenix.
-
chicago is my kind of town. but this time of year i would head south...
-
Miami FL., it will be warm there, and plenty of things to do or just sit on the Balcony and enjoy the scenery.
-
Naples or Marco Island, on the gulf coast of Florida, would make great choices. I know about your "wanting to say you've been there" lark, but I'd still grab more than one night, especially in February!!
-
Hawaii is nice and its in the u.s.
-
Maine. Bar Harbor, to Acadia National Park. It's absolutely amazing there, AND Cadillac Mountain, in the park, is the first place in the United States the sun hits when it rises in the east. Awesome.

Vegas is nice, but Aspen is lovely this time of year. Then there's always The City ( New York ), and San Antonio has the river walk and lots to see and do. I live in Texas, so I probably wouldn't choose SA, but for someone who's not been there, it's a great place.
