I'm am 44 now, and still have some family that I celebrate Christmas with every year. My grandparents are all gone now, and my father has been gone since '91, but my mom and brother and I still live in the same town (all aunts, uncles and cousins live out of town). My mom remarried 10 years ago, so I have a stepdad, step siblings and nieces. So, I've yet to spend Christmas with at least SOME family.

I think I was 21, when I went to Europe and spent it in Amsterdam. Had a wonderful time. The Hostel we stayed in served us Dutch Christmas breakfast and then we went to church around the corner. THe people were just so sweet. They found all the English speakers and told us what to see in the city while we were having after church snacks.

I was 19. I was my 1st duty station in VA Beach. It was the worst. I did not have a car and no way to get home. I called my family and when I heard everyone voice I started to cry. I spent it eating steak in the galley with a few other shipmates who could not go home either.
