It's hard to know what's causing your text to disappear, and I know how frustrating that can be. One way to protect against losing text is to frequently -- after every additional sentence, perhaps -- copy your text to the clipboard (ctrl-A, ctrl-C) so when disaster strikes, all you have to do is ctrl-V to resume from the point of your last save.

That happens to us all, don't feel bad. I have a mouse with buttons on the side that navigate me through IE/mozilla. I cannot count the times that I have been typing out something long and well said, and then I accidentally hit the button and go back to the previous page, losing all my work. I cannot offer a solution to your problem, but have a few points on me, because I have been where you are; fed up with losing hard work!

The only thing I can think of that would cause this to happen is that you have inadvertently hit Control + a, which selects all the text, and then the next key you have hit has replaced that text. Try hitting Control + z (Undo) the next time it happens.

I second both the copy-paste suggestion as well as the ctrl-z suggestion. I use both of them with great success. If you still have problems, you may want to type up your longer answers in something else that has auto-save and infinite undo capabilities (like Word), and then paste your answer into AB when you're done.

you could download a free typing program so you can practice to be more accurate with your key strokes. http://www.sense-lang.org/typing/ http://www.powertyping.com/ http://www.rapidtyping.com/downloads.html http://www.typingtutor.org/ http://www.learn2type.com/TypingTest http://www.nimblefingers.com/p_prog.htm

you want a serious answer for being a klutzo with the keyboard? you throw your fingers around with irresponsibility and you expect us to say, its the fault of the computer? Meditation twice a day for twenty minute sessions might help you focus on what you are doing with your hands. Do you know where your fingers are at this moment? seriously, meditate...it would affect your whole life with lots of positive vibes.
