I hear often: "Soldiers died for our freedom." When was the last time a soldier died for American freedom?

Its right that right now they are not fighting to gain freedom, but every time they fight they are fighting to SAVE YOUR FREEDOM.

Right, wrong, or indifferent American soldiers HAVE fought and lost their lives for our freedom. And the fact that they HAD done this gives us the luxury to not have to do it anymore. My father calls this 'Peace Through Superior Firepower' A very republican outlook on it, but being as he has fought in wars and I have not gives him more of a perspective on the whole thing. You may or may not agree with what is going on in our world in recent times, but rest assured, it is the US Military that has selflessly given us what we have today, and the right for you to speak your mind to change it if you see fit. And back to your question: the average American has no idea what lurks in the darkness. There are mind blowing amounts of threats on our lives and freedoms EVERY DAY. We never hear of it because of our soldiers, and we will probably never hear of them dying while following all the leads of terrorism. If this information were to be made public, panic would ensue. I ask you to thank a soldier the next time you see one, he is still alive because his fathers died for him, and for you. Blessed Be.
