  • For me, the perfect coffee table would be wood, and - yes - would have drawers under the surface to hide remotes and stuff! And in a perfect world, I wouldn't need coasters, cause it would repel any moisture. :-)
  • I have seen gorgeous coffee tables made from tree trunks sliced diagonally through the trunk..exposing knots and all..free form in configuration, and highly polished..I have seen some in gift shops in northern California..of course they are extremely expensive..but oh so beautiful! :)
  • I don't know it's name but one day I'll build a coffee table that when you look into it it looks like it is an illuminated 300 feet deep hole. It is done with a one way mirror (top) one normal mirror (bottom) and a strip of lights (sides)
  • The one I just bought. It is square, and wood, with sort of leather in the middle. Then it has 4 storage ottomans that fit under it. The ottomans are wood with leather seats that come off and you can store things in them, in addition to using them as extra seating or to put your feet up.
  • It has to fit the decor of the room. It can be gorgeous but if it doesn't work, it's not so hot.
