Michaels and JoAnn Fabrics are good for some basic things but I have found that small local stores sell some of the more detailed things that I like.

The best place I have found it the Scrapbook Superstore in Severville, Tennessee, right next to the tourist town of Pigeon Forge. They are also on-line, just put the name in your search and the city and state and it will come up on their sight. They can also tell you if there are any other stores of there's in the country. They are very reasonably priced...cheaper than Michaels and JoAnn's!! It's a huge store and they also have a "discount" store next to their larger store. If you ever get down that way, it's worth the visit!!

the 99cent store. you can use those fake flowers. and they sell buttons. oh, but for very basic things, use Oriental Trading Scrapbooking. be sure to order when you get the new catalog and free delivery. it's my favorite.

My first stop is always the dollar store, after that Wal-Mart and my final stop is this great local shop called Paper Pals. They have tons of stamps, ink, stencils, die-cuts(sp?), and this really cool machine that allows you to MAKE your own die-cuts. There are plenty of tables and chairs so you can sit right there in their shop, drink your coffee, chat with your friends, and scrapbook to your hearts content. You pay a small sum per hour, and you get to use all their stuff for free, plus they have great specialty papers, and stuff you can buy. You should check if there is anything similar in your area. It's a blast.
