2002 VW beetle the brake light keeps coming on and beeping. But the brakes work fine.

    Check to make sure the parking brake is not slightly applied and check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder. Please be careful as there could be a more serious problem.

    Check you owner's manual. Your vehicle may have a warning system in the form of blinking lights. it's probably time for maintenance on your brakes.

    The brake pads are probably worn down to the wear indicator and need replacing.
