OH I can never never drink sherry. Many many years ago I go so drunk on it and was so sick for many days from drinking it...that I won't even get close enough to smell it anymore..hahahahahaha

A little bit before dinner or as a dessert, depends on what kind. There are dry and sweet.

Not as far as drinks go :( I would say only for cooking and as far as my ex female friend goes, no not any more.

I do. I much prefer tawny port to it, though. Entirely civilized way to unwind. 1 or 2 before bed is a mild soporific.

i love sherry. i can understand why some people might not like it as much. at very dry flavor, sherry readies the stomach to accept food. it gets the digestive juices flowing and with more digestive juices in your system, you can break thicker fattier foods down quicker. if you've tried sherry before and didn't like it, i encourage you to try one of the more expensive brands. the taste difference is extreme.
