When they started to get paid millions for doing what amounts to dressing up! *booo, sounds of jealous rage..* It's the wanna-be culture, but what I can't understand is what consitutes 'celebrity' today? Seems any old skank that gets on BB is a celebrity; you're a druggie that knocks out a few pop records, be a celebrity; you can cook?? be a celebrity!! WOW! Hey look, I can dress myself - can I be a celebrity? What happened to talent?

When someone discovered that the associated publicity was free. I had never even heard of Hugh Grant before he hit the front page for playing with a prostitute. What good thing would he have had to have done to get on the front page of a newspaper? But one night with a 'pro' gave him all that publicity for free. When you're a celebrity, "Any publicity is good publicity." It keeps you in everyone's mind and so encourages them to see your latest movie / music video etc. While you're thinking about them, you're not thinking about the other good celebrities so you forget they exist, you forget to watch their movies / music videos etc. If you want good role models in your celebrities then you're going to have to shun the bad ones. You're also going to have to shun all media that tells you about the bad ones, because as long as evil sells, evil lives.
