The first religion was to be a path of obedience to God. It recognized our Maker’s right to decide for man what was good and what was bad in a moral and spiritual sense.

As others have said Animism probably. Oldest records of religion probably Mesopotamia or Egypt. Oldest prophetic religion Zoroastrianism I think?
