  • I think you would be better off with barter. Find a massage therapist who needs some computer work done and just exchange services.
  • Most massage students are required to do so many hours of "practice" work, or home work... I know this because I've known 3 students... Many of them are more than willing to give a massage at a reduced rate/free just so they can build up the hours of practice time. Find the local massage school and see if they have a bulletin board.
  • Either way a professional therapist has worked and paid for schooling to get there. She/he is not going to give it away for free. You might think a therapist makes $65 an hour (if that's what they charge) but remember, no one can give 8 massages a day... If you tried your hands would probably fall off and soon you'd have pissed off clients because your work would be poor. In school I was told to limit to around 4 a day maximum. In practice I've found 4 day to be impossible. People cancel, things change. Typically I see 2 to 3 per day. this works out to around $16 per hour total but then I have to pay for business license, insurance, etc... by the time I'm done I'm making about $6 an hour. So while it seems expensive to you, really we are not getting rich.
  • Marry a sensual person who is into giving and receiving massages with you as a regular part of intimacy. I think that is the best method.
  • There is the find a MT and marry them approach. The date a MY or MT student method. Or the Sign up for a class and learn it yourself and get lots of massage and practice hours and later trade with other massage students. If none of those work for you, then try trading for it. Find a MT who may need things done. What are you good at? Can you clean their office each week or do construction work, carpentry skills, install tiles or carpeting, sell or make things the therapist might want to trade for? Do they need a website to advertise their services? Maybe you could design and maintain their website. Or you could be like me and later in life your husband just happens to go to Massage school and then you can get them for free. I've even been a demo body when he started teaching it, too. But I also put in many hours as a wife prior to that, over 20 years, I believe LOL!
  • I'm a Massage Therapist and can share with you that NONE of us LIKE to WORK for FREE! I don't know how many times I'll be hanging out with a group of people that are so willing to tell me about all of their aches and pains and ask if I could just work of them for a few minutes. Hey, I'm there to relax and have fun too - I don't usually feel like working when I'm off. It's just better to make an appointment with me. I'm in a relationship and though I don't charge him like one of my clients, it's never really FREE either. If he wants to be worked on, he then will do something special for me. If you don't want to pay for massage services then I would find a therapist to barter with - that's been the best advice so far.
