You need to get a judgment against him in court.

First you go to court. Hope you present your case well enough to win AND that he is not set up in such a way as to protect his personal assets. Then you get the Judge (if you win) to order a review of his ASSETS to see if you can scoop an account, or lien the personal property (which may or may not be in HIS NAME). Then, if you cannot scoop an account...you can (hopefully) have cause and file your lien. This is the basic breakdown...INDIVIDUAL STATE laws may also apply and FL is a real interesting state with a lot of strange and sometimes different way of doing business concerning real estate than a lot of other states....
