Once upon a time, I fell in love with my bestfriend. I didn't know if she felt the same, and I didn't muster enough guts to confess either, since we're both girls. So I kept my feelings to myself. One day, I came across a magazine [of which I still remember the name, the cover, and the month it was issued] with a column for relationship advice. There was a letter sender who said that she thinks she thinks she's falling in love with her female bestfriend after reading a novel that the latter wrote. My heart was racing as I read it. She had described herself as the kind of girl who flirts with boys, so she couldn't understand how come she's falling for the same sex. I have shown a short comic to my bestfriend a couple of months ago about two girls who eventually develop a romantic relationship. And yes, she flirts with boys over the internet. Could it be... could it be??? I tried to ask her [innocently] if she reads 'that' magazine, or at least knows about it. She said no. Let's make the story short. I eventually confessed years later, but it was too late. She did admit that for a while back then, she felt the same romantic tendencies about me, but she got over it soon enough. She said she had to, because I didn't seem interested in same-sex relationships. And... she confessed writing that letter to that magazine. I was devastated. I still am up till now. I will probably die forever wondering what could've happened if we were just honest and confessed everything. And to answer your question, I'd rather they not go EITHER to someone we know, or post stuff anonymously about it someplace, over the internet or some magazine. I'D RATHER WE TALK.
