When flagging a question as a duplicate do you think there should be some way to simply enter the URL of the original question instead of using the search box?

first of all they need to let you know when it's a duplicate....most of the time it does not show up and of course...i look like an ass!

Well, if you know the original question, go to it and enter the digits at the end of the URL. Like this question, the digits at the end are 512250. If you enter that, this question will pop up. Is that what you are asking?
