  • As with your other question, other than in a very relaxed home game this is a misdeal, to avoid allegations of the hand being rigged in some way.
  • I believe the official answer is that it's a misdeal. However, in my home poker game if the mistake is caught before anyone has looked at the cards then the dealer takes the cards back and deals them the way they would normally be dealt if the mistake had not been made. This gives each player the cards they would have had anyway and saves the reshuffle and deal time associated with it. If a player has viewed the cards though, it is without question a misdeal.
