Did anyone else think that the Muppet Christmas Carol was an alright adaptation for it essentially being a Muppet movie? (I mean, we can't expect it to be anything like the original, but I quite liked it.)

YES! I wonder how many takes Scrooge had to do before he could keep a straight face with all those Muppets everywhere. Anyway, yeah. Most adaptations I've seen using well-known characters (for example Mickey Mouse) have been outright insulting to the original story, but the Muppet one stays somewhat true to the spirit of the story and doesn't let the muppet antics overshadow it. The sets are really beautiful too. Of course, it's no substitute for reading the book, and everyone should watch the Alistair Sim version too, but the Muppet version is definitely a fun addition to your must-see Christmas viewing! :D

Considering it was a Muppet movie, they didn't mess it up too badly. The Muppets and actors were well-cast, and it was charming.
