  • just listen to Steve Vai, and Richie Sambora(of Bon Jovi) and try to emulate them, but add your own style, of course! basically mess around with it until you find something you like.
  • Well there's three ways of playing with it. You can alter the frequency by moving the bar faster or slower and you can alter the amplitude by increasing the distance that you move the bar in each direction. Lastley, you can simply do a bend like you would just using your finger. I do that often when I want to bend a chord.
  • Do you mean tremolo as in rapid down and up picking, or tremolo as in whammy bar? If you mean tremolo as in picking technique, two things that help a lot is to use a heavier pick and to use heavier strings. The rest is in the practice. Start slow, gradually develop speed, and practice the technique daily. I admire the tremolo that Dick Dale uses on "Misirlou." When I saw him in concert, I found out that his guitar strings were almost as big as bass strings!!
