  • In order to spread HIV, bodily fluids from one infected person must be exchanged with another person. If neither person actually carries the virus, then neither will be infected. The problem is that, when encountering random people on the street, in the bar, or wherever, you can never be sure who is infected and who is not. So, it is best to take precautions against the transfer of bodily fluids unless you are sure that both you and the other person are not infected.
