  • No. All the guys I've liked before my current boyfriend have been white, pretty much. Does that make me racist? No. It's just a preference.
  • As most questions, this depends on a few fields of logic. Dependant on the definition, this is not racism. It shows in what you've quoted, he is more dependant on physical attractiveness than personality which doens't nessisarily show racism either. Weither he is racist or not can't be determined by what you quoted...so don't yet jump to any conclusions from this.
  • People are entitled to preference without having to be labeled racist.
  • It's a personal preference. I like brown rice, my husband likes white rice. Maybe if the person saw a woman who was bi-racial with white and either black or latino features, they might find that person attractive.
  • I like green M&M's over the red, does that make me a racist?
  • no, racism has nothing to do with sexual attraction..I'm gay ..does that mean that I am an anti-feminist? No.
  • That is a preference..not racism. The same as when I say I prefer men sexually..does not make me a homophobe or a bigot.
  • No it's not racist. It's simply a preference. I notice a lot of threads asking about what guys prefer in hair color body color etc. It's the same thing.
  • Well, I think that statement is most likely to come from someone who is a racist, the statement itself is really no more discriminatory than stating you prefer a certain hair or eye colour. Everyone has preferences in terms of what they find physically attractive. Just keep an eye on him... if he starts judging people's virtues or intelligence by race, THEN he's a racist. If he just finds a certain race nicer to look at, that's pretty normal.
  • no. However he is being rude.
  • That is not being racist to me... that is personal preference. If the person says that black or Latino women are less than whites, that is racist.
  • Not at all. It just means that he knows what he likes.
  • just personal preference. I have seen photos of many men from all over the world, and there are some features that just don't do anything for me. I married a half-Italian, half-German who (if truth be known) probably has a lot in common colouring wise with my own father.
  • That isn't racist, nor is it rude. Some of us have far more specific interests. Such as hair color... I for example am really only attracted to dark hair and blue eyes. That doesn't mean I think all other people are suddenly inferior to people I find attractive.
  • No. It is a preference of attraction. Unless there is a motive or racial malice behind it we cannot brand anybody racial.
  • I don't think so. It's just a personal preference.
  • I guess he is just being honest , though why should he even mention it to begin with , would be more like it - Is he saying it intentionally for that kind of a reaction
  • Not at all. I personally am only attracted to white women, with dark hair. Just an easy way to make your preference clearly understood.
  • Personal preference. If he means it only for his sexual or romantic means. If he means it as friends, then I would definitely call it racist. No more than if a heterosexual guy says to me "I really like you, Curious Frank, but you are not my type since I like women". No problem. But if you dislike me because I am gay, as a person, or you wouldn't want to befriend me because of that, then it is homophobic. Depends on the category of their feelings.
  • Yes. What is it about black or latino women that is not particularly attractive? The only thing that sets them apart from white women is race, and last time I checked, racism is discrimination based on RACE.
  • i dont think its racist, like I am white and i would rather date a coloured man then my own race. is that being racist? its just who your attracted to
  • Best left unsaid. Sometimes the reason to say it is not the purist.
  • Is he white? If so then I would say yes. Because there are PLENTY of HOT black and Latino women. So it isn't the attractiveness that makes him say that.
  • Not necessarily. A preference is a preference, ya know?
  • no. i'm a white chick who is only attracted to white guys. there's a difference between a preference and racism. does it make me sexist that i'm not attracted to girls?
  • No, it is just a matter of taste. Lots of white women like darker men, but that's not always the case.
  • It sounds biased. and showing bias may be interpreted as racism if race is a factor.
  • No I don't see it as being racists. I prefer men with brown eyes and when I say 'prefer' I mean that is all I will date and I am not racists.
  • No. I once asked a similar question like this. It's just a personal preferance. I'm black and I prefer white women.
  • No, I prefer my men with meat on their bones...not extremely skinny. I prefer blue or green eyes. Its just a prefrence for his mate, its not like he said "I hate all blacks/latinos" y'know? Now THAT would be racist!
  • That sounds like me. But no, that doesn't sound racist. I'm black and I prefer white women. Does that mean I have self-hatred?
  • No. Just look at a black, latina, and a white women. All three have different body shapes and types. It depends on that preference I think. It applies to men too. White, black and latino men have different body shapes in general.
  • No, he is expressing a preference.
  • Absolutely not. White girls just pop his pistol that's all.
  • NO!!!!!! You have no control over who/what you are attracted to!
  • No. he is not being racist. He is just saying what kind or type of women he is atracted to. now if he was sterio typing all other women other than white women saying that they are all ugly or not good that would be considered racist becasue he is considering the whole race in a negative manner. everyone has there own opinion on what they like in a spouse or partner its there right.
  • why would it? is it evil to have a preference?
  • No, that does not mean he's being racist, but maybe he should be looking at the person's characteristics more than anything else.
  • It's just a personal preference. Maybe the person should skip the first part of the sentence and just talk about what they prefer.
  • In that statement alone, no.
  • NOPE....PURELY PREFERENCE
  • no..he's stating a personal preference
  • Not necessarily. I think it's just a personal preference on the type of person he's physically attracted to. That's something we can't help.
  • If I say I prefer women, not men, is that beng homophobic,I don't think so, it's just a matter of personal preference.
  • Not at all. I prefer white women but it is a preference. I have nothing agaist other races
  • No. but some people confuse preference with racism
  • Unless he prefers white women for the reason that he thinks that other colors are less of a person. If he just finds white women attractive, then it's not racism.
  • Not racist, if that's just a personal preference. It's totally okay to say, "I'm attracted to white girls." BUT, if someone says, "WHY WOULD someone want that Latino or Black or Asian woman? WHY would someone be attracted to her? How come he doesn't like white girls?"--That's racist. That's acting BEYOND personal preference and stating that "white girls are better and everyone should think so."
  • Of course he’s being racist. The problem isn’t that he’s being racist; it’s that people automatically assume racism is always a bad thing. It’s kind of like “sexism”: I prefer women; I don’t particularly find men attractive. Is that sexist? Heck yeah, but if you think I’m going to start having romantic relationships with men because “sexism” isn’t PC, you’ve got another think coming. “Racism,” according to my Dictionary widget, means “the belief that all members of [a] race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race.” While I suppose that saying “all” about anything to do with people is a little overboard, this person is expressing his personal preference for a certain type of woman, which happens to exclude other types of women. If I say I prefer redheads—which I do—I’m excluding blondes and brunettes. (Come to think of it, that also excludes most non-white women. Guess I’m racist, too, huh?) ;-) Sometimes I wonder if we need to stop being *so* sensitive.
  • No, he's just being honest. I find pretty women attractive, and unattractive women unattractive.
  • yes, because he doesn't realize that there are beautiful women in every ethnicity
  • No that's different. Sexual attraction has nothing to do with being racist.
  • NOPE! Oh! So Stupid! but not racist.
  • Nah. I dont like blonde men.
  • I think everyone has preferences. But he is generalizing a little. There are Latinas who are blonde and blue-eyed. My niece is one of them. And both her parents are Latinos. Like, I prefer not to date idiots like the guy who said that!
  • NO... its a personal preference. the fact that i dont like to date Black men or women does not mean that i hate black people and can not have them as friedns. it just means that they just dont turn me on. i have lots of black friends, none of whom i date, not that im saying never.
  • They are cretins, Latinos are HOT HOT HOT! My GF can Salsa Samba and Flamingo Dance...and you should see her maraccas bloody enormous.
  • No. That sounds like me.
  • I have a lot of female friends but they don't turn me on either...it is simply an aethetic preference, not a racist statement.
  • It's no more racist than saying "I prefer blondes" or "I prefer slim women." It's simply a statement of preference.
  • Nope. It's their choice. I love all women but I do prefer white women.
  • No. I'm a white woman and prefer dating black men. When asked why I only date black men, I just say that it's my personal preference. I used to get stares a long time ago when someone would see me with a black man, but not any longer. Interracial dating and marriage is quite common nowadays.
  • No, just insane.
  • No but good! Leaves more hotties for Ec yo...;)=)
  • No! He or she is asserting their attraction preferences. However, one can say that and be a racist, but one can also say it and not be a racist. It depends upon the heart of the person saying it.
  • No, he's not being racist he's just attracted to white women. Plain and simple. I mean at times it can be disappointing because Black and Latino women in my opinion are equally as beautiful if not more attractive and don't forget SHAPELIER than white women. But to each his own, don't worry about he's probably not all of that anyways.
  • No, not at all. To each their own. That's a personal preference not racism. I am a white woman, and I prefer black men, and that's my personal preference. Don't ask me to explain it. It just is.
  • NO it is called personal preference, i am white and i only prefer to date latino men.
  • NO it is personal preference.
  • no, he is voicing his opinion.
  • No it just means they have a preference and there is nothing wrong with a preference. Sometimes people think racist is anything racial, and as long as that person doesn't think that one race is better then the next then it's not racist.
  • No more so than a black man saying "I prefer black women" or a Latino man saying "I prefer Latino women" etc
  • NO, JUST HONEST
  • not really. it sounds a little harsh, but lots of people have their preferences.
  • I guess it depends on his overall opinion of them. If it is just personal preference, then it is not.
  • Depends on the race whos says it. If the person is black or Latino, then it could be regarded as "self-hate", if the person is white, then how could it be wrong???
  • Subconscious motivations could be the cause of such a statement. If you as a boy were raised in a normal two parent household and generally respected and loved your parents and were secure in their relationship with each other, then most likely you will be attracted to a possible mate having some of the same physical characteristics as your mother. Likewise, girls may seek out male relationships that remind them of their father. This frequently happens without realizing that you have done this. Last year a guy friend of mine fell in love with a girl here at school named Laura that I thought was a somewhat odd choice for him to make as he had dated several girls in the past that in my mind would have been a better choice. Laura was short, stocky, muscular, and a great tennis player. At their wedding I noticed that his mom fit the same physical description and was also a conference champion tennis player when she was in high school. Just too much to be a coincidence. So when I hear such a statement I just complete the sentence in my mind like, "I prefer white women" like my mom....
  • no, not at all. I am a white/latina and I am only attracted to dark featured men (black and latino). I have been this way since I was a small child. My father (white) told me that when I was 11 I told him that my children were all going to be mixed, and they are. You can't help who you are attracted to.
  • You probably just havent seen one that revs your engine yet. Everybody has preferences when it comes to rating attractiveness. I find it surprising that this person would say that considering the sheer number of different looking people in every ethnicity, but oh well maybe he really isn't attracted. However if his lack of attraction spawns from his feelings towards blacks or latinos in general and never tried to actually befriend one of them that is racist in my books.
  • No it just means you know what you like.
  • no not if its a preference.... b/c everyone has preference.. as long as he doesnt say anything insulting about black or latinas...
  • NO, JUST A REALIST.
  • No. It's called a preference. It also sounds like he is being honest with himself.
