  • Why are you more important than they are. You contribute more to the destruction of the environment. Ants are great teamworks and incredibly productive. Nearly no humans are as effective or productive as ants. And what does it matter if they have no souls? Your religion might teach that ants have no souls. Mine might teach that humans don't. Does that make it alright to kill you?
  • I look at ants as being living creatures. I have never purposely killed a living creature for my own enjoyment, I don't understand the pleasure you seem to get out of it. How can you be certain ants 'have no souls', how can you be certain of anything that you can't prove? It's bad to crush the 'puny bastards' because I don't think killing things for fun can be healthy for YOUR soul.
  • I worry about the thoughts you have. Getting pleasure from killing anything is sick. Everything living thing on earth is here for a purpose...and you feel like killing something just because you can. I think you need a shrink.
  • No..but killing anything just because you're bigger and can, then taking pleasure from the act is rather disturbing. I kill insects when they come into my home, but I take no pleasure from it and it gives me no sense of power. I would be willing to bet that if someone your size or bigger threatened you in any way you would run like a jack rabbit. Most bullies will.
  • Who said I get "pleasure" from killing them? It's more like a habitual thing I do almost without a thought. If I'm out in the grass and I see a few dozen of them battling it out, I step on them all with one foot so I can see the mess. Or if I'm on the sidewalk and I see an anthill beneath me, I demolish it with my feet. I just do it on a whim because it's funny. Do ants make a difference? I'm someone who has no problem killing bugs. I stomp on spiders and crush flies with my hands because they're annoying to me. I guess my question is why shouldn't I? Compared to ants and other bugs, I'm huge. If I'm able to step on them for fun, then why not? It means that I'm a higher life form. It's natural selection.
  • I dont step on them on purpose. Only if they are attacking me or in my house. But the thing is, they crawl into my Converse and when I put them on I squash them. Its not nice. Seriously. There was once like like 3 or 4 in them and because my feet are quite big (Size 12) they were all over them. Some on my heel one on my toe. Urgh. Its bad for me because I nearly never wear socks either. Only in winter. And my feet sometimes smell when ive been hot all night in bed. So I think the ants got it worse off. Don't you?
