Our family chose a unique way of celebrating the Christmas season. Christmas Eve we were allowed to open one present (usually pajamas or slippers) and then the others were not opened until Christmas morning. Our stockings could be opened in the early hours of the morning, however we were not allowed to turn on the light. We had to wait until everyone woke up on their own before we could open presents.

On Christmas Eve we all get to open one small gift. On Christmas morning you can open the rest. Gotta wait for Santa!

Yes.... Last year Jimmy and I came home from the paper route at 5:00 am and we were trying to be careful not to wake up my daughter and one of my sons who had fell asleep in the living room. We were heading back to get more sleep... We were half way through the laundry room when they jumped up and said Boo! So it was a very early morning as usual, opening gifts. ;)

In my family, that's the way it goes. Though, the last three or so years, we've been going to visit all our nearby relatives after the 25th, and there we would receive our gifts from those people and give them theirs from us, thus combining Christmas and New Years into one, week-long ordeal.

We open one gift on christmas eve and the rest on christmas day.

my family parties all christmas eve night long and we open our gifts at 2 am christmas day!! :D lol. then dance, play games and eat some more :D
