  • The first and LAST time I went sledding was three or four years ago... I fell on a rock and hurt my back... really badly. I still have a scar...and pain once in a while.
  • at least 4-5 years ago, I prefer snow boarding and skiing myself.
  • I have a bad knee so cannot get down onto a sled anymore. I went tobogganing YEARS ago, down a hill that has since been closed. We (the residents of this city) used to make a bobsled run down it, with a hump at the bottom (everyone went the same path and waited in line to do so). By the time 20 or so people went down it, it was icy and fast. You could hit what seemed to be 60 mph, and then hit that hump and take a tobaggon of 6 adults airborne a good 8 feet into the air. Too many people were getting sprains, strains, and breaks. (Unlike us old farts, they never learned to bail in a ball in mid-air)
  • Almost too many years ago to count. But I imagine it would feel incredible and bring me back to those happy, carefree days of childhood. Have a great time!!
  • last March while we were still living in Utah. The kiddos had a blast. We brought the sleds back to Texas... maybe we will get some snow or ice in the next few years and they can go to the park across the street and slide down the 5' hill!!
  • It was a few years ago, with a bunch of friends! I kind of hurt my back, so I'm not too thrilled about the thought of doing it again:P
  • Seems like a lot of people have horror stories about sledding! I have to say, if you put a little alcohol in your system before you go out, if you do land badly it hurts a lot less! Of course, it can also increase your chances of landing badly. It's been a couple of years since I last went sledding. Last winter's snowfall was virtually negligible for my part of the world. This year already looks better - I'm planning on going out tomorrow!
