It has to be something that calls out to me. A piece of art that I will buy is something that reflects part of my life. Even if I can't explain why and no one else understands.

Form, style, message, and cost.

Something that speaks to me and moves me, screw what anyone else things; the size of the thing, I can't have any HUMONGOUS art right now in my home; if i can afford it is the deciding factor.

Usually I want the art work to match the colors of a newly decorated room.

When buying a piece of art, I am looking for something that speaks to me, something you connect with. When an artist is making a piece, there's normally a motive, an idea, or a story behind it. But to everone else, it can have a completley different meaning, you can almost make your own story from it. So something that has a significant meaning to me, in my life. Art is more than just a painting or sculpture, that's what it makes it so interesting. (hope that all makes sense :/)
