  • Kidnapping is to take somebody someplace against their will. False imprisonment is to lock someone in say a room or a house against their will. Both charges can be used in a case of kidnapping (taking somebody) and false imprisonment (locking them in the closet or something).
  • No its not at all, if you walked in on your own choice that is not kidnapping. If someone forgot you was in the house or couldn't get you out, thats just tough luck.
  • If you were forced into the house in the first place against your will, then yes it is kidnapping.
  • yes, i would say locking someone anywhere would be kidnapping and good reason to shoot them in the foot. even if you went into the house/establishment wanting to be there, you can't be attained. remember that man west and his wife?
  • It's false imprisonment
  • Kidnapping is taking someone against their will for the purpose of holding them for some sort of ransom. Abduction is taking someone against their will without making a demand for ransom. Intentionally locking someone up without their consent and without legal authority to do so is false imprisonment.
