  • Yes you could sharpen one, with a Dremmel tool, the proper bit and a light touch, or you could just pick up another for $1.99 at just about any department store! Edit for Jarvismom, maybe you could buy the new peeler and exchange blades (very carefully) if it's the handle that you like, I know some are too small to get nice leverage and your hand gets tired, you may not need the same leverage with a new or sharper blade. Hope this was useful!
  • Yes it can be sharpened with a diamond hone. The process is pretty simple. The following link will direct you to a site with pictures of how to hold the diamond hone against the peeler for sharpening. http://www.frets.com/FRETSPages/Fun/Kitchen/Peeler/peeler.html
  • Yes you can . heres how. The ol' potato peeler is a humble little tool, but like any other cutter, it could stand sharpening from time to time. there are two cutting edges, so the tool works for lefties or righties, forward or backstroke. the sharpener of choice is a modest diamond pocket hone. It's a medium grit. First, you flatten and dress down the outer edges. I'm taking care not to change the cutting angle Next, you hone the inside edge. Here's where you actually be doing the sharpening. you can sharpen from the inside without fear of changing the outside "attack angle." A sharp peeler does a much faster job! you get thinner slices, and more control, too.
