If a doctor asked you if you are "sexually active with men, women, or both" for a patient history, would it offend you? If so, how would you phrase it with more tact?

    No, it wouldn't offend me.

Now asking " Is there ANYTHING you won't have sex with?" would offend me but I don't think that's being overly sensitive. Do you?

No I would not be offended.
A doctor needs to know alot of information in order to do his/her job properly. As long as the question is relelvent then it would be silly to get offended by it.

All they need to ask you , if they do at all, is ask you if you are sexually active?

That's almost exactly how I phrase it. It's direct and to the point, without any euphemisms. Nobody's complained to me about the question.

Nope, I have the answer to his question. Just part of a standard list he asks everyone.

I wouldn't find it all that offensive.
It's relevant information if they're going to be doing a medical examination, after all.

In fact, I'd take it as an opportunity to have some fun with the poor schmuck by answering something like
"Yes; To the best of my knowledge, No.
And is there a third choice?"

It wouldn't offend me. Seems to be one of the routine questions when donating blood.

rephrase: this is nothing personal, just for a patient history....are you sexually active with the opposite sex,...do you engage in sexual intercourses with the same sex?.....if the doc would say it the right way or somehow professional, then i wouldnt be offended.
and he/she better ask it quickly and direct to the point so that it wouldnt sound too personal.
and he/she better watch out with his/her facial expression and tone when asking.
