Why did The Red Sea get named so?

some people say that it is because of the near by mountains which are red in colour, others say that it's because of the flowers which are near the waters surface and are red. or it could be called the red sea, refering to the south, and then the black sea would be referring to the north.. i like the last explanation better... hope that made sense!
