6yr old Sony, Hi-def Rear proj. big screen. Green lines in it for some time, tonight the scrn flashed like a light bulb blowing, then went green for 5 - 10 secs, TV turned itself off. Now red light flashing. Restart, pic started, went green, shut off.

one (or more) of the crt's are failing, not a self-repair kind of issue by any means. damm poor to have them failing this quick, contact sony customer service & demand that the parts be covered by them- they have had several "service issues" (class action lawsuits) and want to avoid any further ones
