Go to the residential tenancy brancy and file a complaint the landlord will be give a repair notice. Not to mention the possibility of mold.

That seems odd to me. It seems to me that either the condo board or owners' insurance should cover it, or it should be the responsibility of the condo resident who caused the damage. But, that's just my opinion; I don't have any direct knowledge of how it really works. I do think it sucks if you have to pay for damage that you did not cause.
