Does everyone die famous in a small town?

I don't know if "famous" quite describes it, but they certainly die "well-known." I grew up in a small town and everyone knew everyone else's business. "Famous," to me, has positive connotations to it. There are some people who died in my small town, at which point many heaved a collective sigh of "Finally!" or "Good Riddance!" This was certainly not positive. Maybe they died infamously. :o)
