May I suggest: http://www.ask.com/web?q=first+time+travel+to+india there are many blogs with this subject. Here's some common Knowledge -- seeing all of India in one trip takes a long time -- I recommend you focus on regions -- North and South as a start, as they are quite different, the north is far more crowded, the far north (Himalaya's) is not crowded at all -- but it's very cold in the winter. My favorite part of India is the south, Kerala. When you arrive at an airport or train station, you will be swarmed by taxi drivers. Don't let them touch your baggage, don't accept any offers, and don't discuss your destination with them. Most train stations and airports have a motor rickshaw station -- go there, tell them where you want to go, and pre-pay the fare. If you don't see a motor rickshaw station, you can ask a policeman where you can book a taxi. Be very careful with what you eat -- only eat in crowded restaurants, and drink only bottled water. If a restaurant doesn't have bottled water, usually, they will let you use your own. Have a great trip -- you can email me if you want more info.

Welcome to visit India any time. There are several places (i.e. Temples, Historical Buildings and Hill Stations) to see in India. It may be a good journey if you keep some point in your mind. • If you are new to India and you are not in group then you should book your travel agent or Guide before coming at India. • Take always your taxi inside the airport. • Try to be in groups; do not go any where alone. • Keep water, food and other essential things. • Take local mobile no. and inform to your friends and family members. • Keep your important documents (Passport, Visas and other information at internet also. • Always stay at reputed hotels always.

Are you country hopping, or going as a tourist?

A pepsi costs about 40 rupees - about a quarter and they give you a straw. You drink it there and give them the bottle back.

Hi ... You are going to love your visit to India . There are lots of historical monuments and buildings in India . But what most outsiders really relish is the cultural heritage of the country . It's the people you would find more interesting than the building (I am not saying the buildings are not beautiful , I am just saying that most visitors would enjoy exploring the cultures more) . Also there is one thing you would better be aware of . Most people in the working class have the impression that all GORAS (whites)(no offense meant) are filthy rich , which is partly relatively true . So they'd expect HUGE tips . A few of them even cheat the unaware tourist . So please be careful when you deal with cab drivers and other people who serve . Many of the so called guides are impostors and cheaters . So choose the people you deal with wisely . And yes be street safe at late hours . Hey ... but don't be afraid , I am just warning you for the worst case . I am sure you would have a splendid time in India . Most tourists leave with great memories . If you have further questions please do contact me . I stay in a state called Gujarat . All the best . Enjoy Yourself .
