The 216 came out in 1937. If you have the 216 it will have two bolts through the top of the valve cover. If it a 235 it won't. The valve cover is usually blue or gray on the 235 and has the oil filler cap near the middle of the cover plus large crankcase breather pipe. The cover is wider than the 216 cover which had a groove in two places going from one side to the next. Either one of these are not full pressure fed except the mains and rod bearings. The rest is splash fed by a dipper system. Its not a good idea to rev them up as they will starve for oil on the top end or let them run too low on oil. Many swap them for a 235, 1954-1963 full pressure version. I hope this helps you out.

I think it has been swapped out the valve cover is orange now though I think it was originally red with Chevrolet on it, the oil cap is in the center towards the firewall and there is a breather cap on the passenger side of the crankcase. I’ve got one picture and I'll try to get some more later this week.
