I am not a big fan of either system. what I really think would be great is if they did it like basketball, if they had another 5 min quarter. that way we could really judge who was playing better that night. But I will say that I do like the current system better than sudden death.

Personally I dislike sudden death overtime. If you win the toss and get to receive kick-off, you are halfway towards winning the game, and I don't like seeing 3 hours of closely fought contest being virtually decided by a coin toss. Perhaps if a touchdown were required to win sudden death overtime instead of just any score then it might be ok. As a Brit who is used to soccer games often ending in draws, I don't see the need for any sort of overtime at all... but if you're going to insist on creating a result, then at least give skill an opportunity to settle it rather than just dumb luck.

Sudden death: if you get lucky and win the toss, you've basically won the game. You may as well just decide the fate of the game at the coin toss

I agree with Jeremy. Instead of sudden death, have a 5 or 6 minute overtime so even if one team gets scored on suddenly, they still have a chance to let their offense have a shot. I agree though, I do not like the current method.
