Because most men won't admit to getting beat up by their wife.
-
There is a problem when the man is the one being abused. Most men won't admit it happened. It does happen and they have to start taking steps to help the abused men.
-
The man is ashamed and embarassed to admit it, thats why we don't hear about this problem. The case is that the man doesn't want to beat his wife out of love to her or fear of her - so she beats on him. Same thing goes for men getting raped. It's a sad thing, why is the world so sexist when it comes to violence? If its a man that's the victim, it's not heard of. If it's the woman, its all over the news!
-
The fact is most domestic violence cases involve women getting beaten by the man in their life. It happened in my family with my stepfather. We are starting to hear more about men being abused, which is a good thing. (not that it is happening, just that we are starting to hear about it) In cases where it goes to court, women are being prosecuted and even going to jail.
-
Several reasons: 1. The law is not being 'sexist', it's based on simple facts: compared physically, women generally tend to have smaller physiques less capable of brute force. [It would really be surprising to find a guy who can't at least defend himself against a female's assault.] Hormones would have to be factored in, too: testosterone make men more aggressive [and more prone to violent behavior] than women. 2. As stated by another AB user, most men won't report being beaten in fear of looking like a sissy. 3. And the most important reason: Because THERE ARE MORE MEN WHO ACTUALLY BEAT THEIR WIVES UP. Seriously, how many women do you know, or can imagine at least, ACTUALLY being able to beat their husbands?
-
Both men and women are abused, but women are the victims in the vast majority of the cases. I do know of cases, though, where the woman has been arrested for domestic violence.
-
I guess men having those problems wont talk about it...but ...what a shame...everyone should live in a Bully-free enviroment!
-
The percentage seems to be higher on men where domestic violence is concerned. However, they are cases where men are the victims and the woman are the one who have committed domestic violence to their husband. I wish I could give you a better answer. The woman goes to jail, just like the man. It is just you don't always hear about those cases and I really don't understand as to why.
-
Practice in front of the mirror daily... "If you hit me, I'll break you jaw." It's just that simple.
-
It's not always aginst the man...
-
The percentage of men being abused is steadily rising do too men starting to stand up and report it, but, the percentage of women being abused is higher so it is hard for the law enforcement to accept that say a 5' 11 185 lbs male is being abused. I know because I am a victim and that is I was told by the officers involved. there is more to DV than just physical violence. MEN STAND UPAND SPEAKOUT.... The only shame is not talking about it.
-
In Ohio if you both hit each other both of you will go to jail doesnt matter who started it.

1-Studies show that domestic violence is done EQUALLY by both sexes, even if you don't take into account unreported incidents. (Which I don't, because it's not really scientific). 2-Nobody reports most of it, honestly can you imagine walking up to the station and saying "my girlfriend beat me up"? You'd be laughed out of the place! 3-There are SOME (not all) basically sexist laws, for example the "primary aggressor" laws on the books. These laws basically tell the police to take in factors such as the strength and build of both people involved in the incidents. This means of course, than 90% of the time the man will be taken in. This disregards the facts of the given situation and instead basically says "women=good, man=wife beating shit, no matter what". If you want a good angle take a look at child abuse, now at least 70% of that is the mothers doing, though I always found it hilarious that feminists groups deny this at any chance they get.
-
FYI...Its not always against men....sometimes a man will file charges on a woman to increase their chances of getting custody of children....Trust me it happened to me.
-
I am somewhat of a feminist but I have a different take. Times are changing, I work out a lot and can handle myself quite well. The laws are somewhat sexist in the fact, in all fairness, guys go to jail too much. If a woman starts it and hits the man first, he does have a right to defend himself against her. I have a relative who is a female who has been to jail twice for whipping her husband. She is bigger and could take him in a fight, it does happen. Whoever throws the first punch deserves to go to jail regardless of gender. The law is very sexist. I want equality with a man and the fact so many of my friends play the victim role is not doing me any favor. I learned this from the ordeal with my family member. There are plenty of men being beaten, just like there are plenty of women being beaten. It is horrible, but there are some men who can't defend themselves. It is time to get out of the stoneages and realize violence affects everyone.

The laws are not always right. If you are married, file for divorce. In any state if you can prove abuse then you have a legal issue.Any person who is victimized has options.Either stay and deal with it or leave. You are in control of your own fate, you decide what is best for you.

Because more than 2/3 of all domestic violence were commit by men. But when a man is the victim, he is the good guy.
-
When the man is a victim, there is nothing he can do other than divorce the wife or sever the relationship with a girlfriend immediately and permanently. Even if he never touches her, if the police are called he will get arrested and have a record. The only thing he can do is divorce or leave her and make sure everyone he knows is aware that she's a violent nutcase.
