Would McDonald's ever have the courage to drop Ronald McDonald from its advertising campaigns?

we dont have ronald macdonald in advertising compaigns here. we have sarah ulmah (excuse the spelling) and many other famous "healthy" sports people advertising it... to make the message that macdonalds is healthy

Ronald McDonald is not much of an advertising character but a mascot. All the kids love him when he shows up. I would not think they would do that in the near future although he did get into some doo doo:

No is the answer. What would they rename Ronald McDonald House? Ronald McDonald is the 'icon' of McDonald's. I don't see Ronald in any television commercials anymore, but his image still appears on the odd print add or bag design. McDonald's simply has too much tied up in that name to drop it.
