Garland, lights, and ornaments. No 'tinsel', if you mean 'icicles'. We have two cats and we don't chance that they might eat them, since it can kill them.

We used to do tinsel and I have done garland, in fact maybe that is what we still do. We strand popcorn and cranberries on fishing line. Sounds wierd but looks nice.

I like everything but tinsel. Tinsel is such a mess with my kids! I'll find it everywhere around the house! Plus my dog tries to eat it and I'm sure that's dangerous for him.

I like to deck the tree out with lights, garland and ornaments to have it lood as full as possible.

When I was little I would insist on all of them. Tinsel is too messy for me now, though. I stick with lights, ornaments, and this M&M's holiday garland made from 1" wooden M&M's.

I don't put up a tree anymore but when I did I made a decision quite a few years back that I wouldn't use any store-bought decorations unless they were gifted to me by friends so I use handmade decorations preferably those made with friends and loved ones
