  • We were fishing for catfish in a brackish creek. I thought I had caught a grandaddy cat. When I pulled it in it was a soft-shelled turtle. Getting the hook out was scary. It's neck kept stretching and it's sharp-toed feed kept flailing. Scary stuff!

  • No, but my brother has. My dad caught a duck once.
  • I was bass fishing with my husband and brother-in-law in a strip pond.... big ole snapper grabbed my bait and I didn't know what I was going to do once I got it on shore... yelled for hubby and his brother... by the time they got up to me the turtle was right at the shore and snapped the line!
  • Strangest thing I ever caught was a chipmunk (photo). We were walking toward the river with our poles and I didn't notice that my line was dragging on the ground. I must have left a little bait on the hook, b/c the little guy spotted it and grabbed it. My dad unhooked the him and set him free. =====================
  • Almost everyday my friend.
