Do you put the seat down after you do your duty, or are you one of those that leaves it up whether male or female?

if there aren't any girls in the house then i just leave it up. if there are girls around then i put it down.

This has been the discussion of a century for my wife and I. Years ago, we agreed that she would raise the top, when finished, and i would lower the top, when finished. How long did this last? About one week. So, now we keep handy wipes close by. For both of us.

I only lift the lid (and seat) to use it (or scrub it clean), then as soon as I am done, I put the seat and lid back down. ... I'm male.

I always put the toilet seat and the toilet LID down as well. Not because I'm being nice, just because it's a habit!

I have a self closing loo I just touch the top and it closes. Female

I have always lowered the LID (I am female and so do not raise the seat). Every male I have ever lived with (from my father to my brother to roommates to my husband) has always done the same. Not because I asked them to, but because it good hygeine. The toilet is a receptacle for your body's waste. It is attached to pipes that lead to a hole in the ground full of bacteria. Why would you want that standing open? That's just GROSS. And it's bad feng shui. There is a LID for a reason. Just like a lid on a jar or a bottle. Put it back on after use.

i am probably the only one in this world who never sits on the seat.i raise the seat,sit on the bowl,conduct my business and into the shower.

Aha, I feel sorry for all you guys. I sired 3 sons and only one daughter, so you can gues which way it was. Thats right, seat and lid down. can i haveanother sigh? And lots of times there was that danged fuzzy cover on the lid. Thing wouldn't stay up long enough to finish. I'm lucky I got any grandkids at all. Till the boys really learned who was in control they was always bein yelled at to "Lift it first! And wipe it off!" My rule for toilets is the same as for light switches, doors, and gates; "Leave it like ya found it."

I just sit down because it easier then the up and down thing with the seat.

yes i always do it is the proper use of bathroom manners, i also do this because i have 3 cats & so i have a fear of them drowning in the toilet, i even puts down the lid all the time.

I am a down person.....keeps the germs in,lol. + :o)
