  • Yes! It was about 5 years ago. That was the first time I had ever had a flu shot. The company I was working for encouraged all employees to get one and was offering them free during lunch time. I thought why not? Especially since I worked evenings and had to share a desk with a day person (germs). The next day I was so ill I wished I had died. I was out of work for about 6 days and I never got another flu shot after that.
  • Never. I've had them regularly for the last 6 years until this season as it came out late. Go figure. I got hit 2 days before I had my appointment. They've always worked for me.
  • No, I never have and if I did, I wouldn't blame the flu shot unless lab tests were performed that confirmed that the flu I had was one of the flu strains in the vaccine. The vaccines are prepared months in advance based on the strains that are expected to be most prevelant that year - they couldn't possiblty include them all.
  • I had one .....it was bad I was going to die
  • I spoke with a doctor about this. The shot you get for the flu is NOT a live vaccine. You do NOT get the flu from the shot. Most likely you had been exposed to the flu before you received the shot. Also getting the shot does not guarantee that you will not get the flu but it helps to give you a milder case of the flu.
  • I used to get a very mild case of the flu which lasted about one day. Now I don't get that anymore.
  • I have, and so have friends and relatives, even with the new so called 'dead' vaccines. That's why we gave up on them and use nosodes instead. We take these drops for a few days, made specifically for whatever year flus, and they have protected us for several years until this one when I didn't start my drops soon enough. I love my nosodes!!!
  • Yes, the flu vaccines are a hit or miss thing. There are always new strains of flu that will occur. But generally, if you have "had the shot", and you still get a virus, it will be less intense for having had the shot. Get the shot.
  • Nope. I've never had a flu shot. (As far as I know)
  • once and had the worst flu ever. never took another and have yet to catch the flu. go figure
  • I have never had a flu shot, but have heard of many ppl getting the flu shortly after getting theirs.
  • Yes I've had the shot before and was fortunate to never get any flu symptons. My arm hurt like hell for a couple of days though.
  • Never.
  • I paid to have my flu shot as only certain people are eligible for it for free, so i had my shot and 2 weeks later i was laid up with the worst flu i had ever had in my life, i was in bed for a week and a half as i was so weak
  • A friend of mine had a flu shot and a pneumonia shot and got some very bad bug afterward.
