i wouldn't say that i'm afraid of love, even though i've seen the good and bad it has to offer. i don't know if love is so much scary as is the commitment that usually comes with it.

I somewhat agree with CuppyCake. Love is a strong emotion and it has the ability to not only feel exceptionally good, but cause you the most amount of pain you can ever imagine. It's not "love" itself that is scary, but the overwhelming of emotions can escalate to such an intenseness that it can be scary to feel that much towards another person.

Love is an emotion you cannot necessary always control, I think I have more of a fear of not having control (not necessarily being IN control) of things.

Maybe a little, the fear of the unknown, the fear of rejection or feeling the insecurity at first. But once you nestle in true love it is a very safe very secure feeling, almost like being in a warm nest but high up in a tree where you see the whole world stretched out beyond you and you are amazed that you could be this high and feel on top of the world but you are safe with this person.

Yes. The Knowledge that you love this person also brings with it the knowledge that they are the single thing that can hurt you the most. After being hurt before loving again can be terrifying.

Yes. At the beginning, you are scared the other doesn't love you as much as you love them. Throughout, you are scared that something will happen to the one you love, or that love will desert you. At the end, you are scared of leaving your love. But LOVE is worth being scared like that.
