The comedy, fantasy, it's a different medium of viewing entertainment? Some shows can be immensely complex with unique plots - thats why i like it. Hmm.. very broad question.

It's something different from western culture. It's more interesting than are our TV programs. Most of it fails but it still redeems itself with character designs, ideas, etc.

It's better that almost every American cartoon or comic. How you compare an American superhero who never suffer with all our anime?

first there were comics.. everywhere .. then came the TV the cartoons were born, and at the same time anime s an abbreviation of the word "animation" so basicly this is the same as cartoon but form other country, like in usa the vinnie the pooh or same as in Russia some same teddy bear type of character. the oldest anime was made in beginning of 19 th century (picture), then the anime and cartoons were nothing but funny, happy stories that made people happy and especially children =) but in the 1990s there begun to make different type of anime and then the word Manga appeared, after this the world went crazy with fighting in those animes and much more violence grew, dont know how but i too somehow grew with this kind of revolution... and i say some like it others dont understand it. =)

it is at once simple and entertaining and complex and though provoking it tends to have beauty and violence, ugly and compassion, in balance and imbalanced. Whats not to like?

Any enjoyment one can glean from viewing live-action media can also be gleaned from viewing anime. It is as versital a genre as any other. The fact that it is animated takes away from the experience for some while for others it might add to it. for me, it adds to the enjoyment.

Really good anime like Ranma 1/2, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Shamploo are so darn funny. The things that the characters do are so unexpected. Also Japanese anime producers are more uninhibited than animators in other countries. (If you know what I mean...)

I think anime artists are great artists. The characters have depth and the story lines are grasping. On top of this, there are so many genres of anime that both adults and children could find interest in one thing or another.
