  • Too much! There are 45 countries besides Britain that sill have a monarchy. Sixteen of them, all members of the Commonwealth, have Britain’s queen Windsor as head of state. They are Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, St. Christopher & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu. The Windsors are the most expensive monarchy in Europe. The Windsors get their huge income from a number of sources. Some of it comes directly from the taxpayers. And some is income from financial and property investments that really belong to the taxpayers. In all they cost more than £88m a year. http://www.centreforcitizenship.org/monarchy/mon5.html Divide 88m a year by the number of tax payers and you have your answer. The whole thing is obscene. Public Relations The cost of justifying these feudal privileges is also carried by the taxpayers. The family have been increasing their spending of other people’s money on public relations, as they recognise the need to work harder to keep their confidence trick going. They now intend to develop their Web site in a partisan effort to persuade children that the feudal institution is defensible.
  • It only cost the average taxpayer a few pounds a year; it is worth it. Say there are about 40 million taxpayers in Britain, divide 88 million by it, and you have £2 and 20p, if you go by £176 million, and divide by 40 million taxpayers, you get £4 and 40p! Not a lot to spend for something that is vital to our nation's pride, image, and government. So, the answer: around £3.
  • Way too much. I don`t want to be paying for those wankers Harry and William to go to Boujis and piss it up the wall. They are wastes of time and money. They`re not even British, they`re German. Time this tradition was banished to the wastebasket with Tony Blair and his Nu Labour Party.
  • Too much! as said, not just British pay.....actually there might be more non-British paying than British.....there's logic!
  • Not as much as they bring to the UK in the tourist trade, everyone wants to see the queen apparently
