When I'm entering a domain with other human habitation (which isn't my house). I usually announce my arrival with a loud, high pitched, "Where's my boy?" and my kitty comes running.

No...........our home alarm is good at doing that. It beeps 3 times which then sends my 3 year old into a full out sprint. She then runs me down and hits me in the crotch almost everytime.

No!! But I do enter the house saying "Hiiiiiiiiiiii!!!" to my dog that's jumping up and down with joy!! :o)

I usually say "I came back" My dog thinks this is a joyous occasion that merritts much celebration. Doesn't matter if I am gone all day or 20 minutes, I get the same response. My wife is often pleased that I have returned but she doesn't celebrate or wag her tail.
