  • Yes, I have been making patchwork quilts for many years. Your best teacher would be the classes (usually free) at your local quilting supply store. Next best is the wonderful tutorial sites you find on the internet in your search box. I do all hand sewing, but there are both types online. My advice is to go into it with the idea that it can be relaxing and enjoyable, and if it seems like too much work, or too much trouble you maybe should consider a different craft. I hope it doesn't sound too mean, but I've heard so many people complaining, I just thought I would add that in.
  • Yes I do. I have been quilting for over 40 years, both traditional and contemporary quilts, bed, wall, and clothing. I learned everything from books and some from TV quilters in later years. I loved Georgia Bonesteel's old show. And Simply Quilts is a nice show. If there is a quilting or fabric store in your area, contact them and they can give you lessons or even have classes starting with a good beginner's block. Most quilters are very generous with their talents and time. We love to talk shop:-)
