If you are going to be using a credit card anyway, then why not use one that offers something back? I have a sky miles card that I use, especially for large purchases. As long as I keep it paid off it is a great way to work toward a free ticket. For example I bought my husband's laptop computer with it. I had put back enough money to pay for it, but I paid for the computer with my skymiles card then paid off the card. No interest and I got 1700 skymiles. My parents have a G.M. card that they frequently use and they do the same thing. Use the card to purchase then pay it off. They had accumlulated about $2000 on the card and used it toward the purchase of their last car. I have also used my skymiles card to make other purchases and if I cannot immediately pay it off, I utilize a balance transfer to a lower rate card and save a lot of money on interest. So yes! If you can be responsible and creative with them, I think they are great!
