This is not an age thing here, but maybe a cute blanket for her. I am only 20 but I freeze crazy and I know I'd like a good blanket.

Make her a basket, include things like stationary, stamps, audio books, regular books, tea, cute mug, nice cookies, tea jams and jelly, cook books...

It's hard to know without knowing anything about your grandmother. Some grandmas are active and would hate anything that says "sit down, take it easy, you're old" Some grandmas like pampering and restful things. So, I would suggest that you think about the things that your Grandmother enjoys. Hobbies, collections, etc. It is also a pretty safe bet that she would love the gift of spending time alone with you. Tickets to a play, movie or other activity for the two of you might just make her happiest.

Last year i got my grandma a blanket with pictures of my son and my nephew on it. she loved it. you can get blankets like that made from wal-mart as long as you have the pictures

If she doesn't get out much, give her more of your time.
-
Give her a new set of dress or a cool eye glass... Give her some time and spend the day with her...That'd be by far the best :)
-
Where was she raised? My grandmother is Dutch, so I do things like buy her imported Delftware, bake her some stroopwafels, and so on. She really appreciates me taking time to learn a little about the culture of my ancestry, and enjoys having things that remind her of her place of origin.
-
I think spend time with her. because we are always in our work and all. they feel lonely. if we gave some time to them then they become very happy and they don't feel lonely at all....
-
Maybe just write her a letter :) Grandmas like that sort of thing.
-
The best Gift you could give her. Is to be there with her during that Wonderful day of the Year. And always remember the true reason, for the season.......Bye bye for now!!!!!.............M.C.S.

Sponsor a shoebox gift on her behalf...or buy an animal for a family in a developing country...or dig a well on her behalf. Or, the ultimate, buy a rickshaw for an Indian family and have her name put on the back of it....go to somewhere like www.PeopleAid.org

I did some research and found out what music my grandmother used to listen to when she was younger, and I got a hold of the stuff I could and put it on a CD.
-
a hand knitted shawl may be appreciated

My grandmother's favorite gift she ever received was put together by my mother. She send out large quilt squares to each of my grandmother's children and grandchildren. They were to each sign one or more quilt squares and say whatever they wanted to in fabric paint. When my mother got them all back, she sewed them into a quilt. My grandmother was so proud of that quilt!

This may sound funny, but one of the gifts my grandmother apprecited was a bottle of brandy. My grandmother never drank at all, but once mentioned she enjoyed a little brandy in the winter time. I got her a small bottle - don't remember the flavor - and I'm not sure if she ever finished it, but she always knew it was there if she wanted it and would never have got it for herself.

If you live near her, Take her to lunch or dinner. One year (many years ago) my son's gift to his grandfather (now deceased) was a coupon book he made good for 6 lunches with him. My father never forgot that and often spoke of the conversations he had with his grandson over lunch. You are her gift to her--and she will always appreciate the time she spends with you.

My grandmother loves hearing my voice, and one of the only thing she loves more than that is seeing new pictures of me, so I will be getting my grandmother a digital picture frame, but not just any digital picture frame, this one in particular is one that I can upload pics from my house for her to see. http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/4936540

A nice journal for her to record her life memories and experiences.. Priceless..

Anything with pictures of her kids and grandkis on it. This can be refrigerator magnets, framed photos, scrapbook pages, etc. A gift of your time: a coupon for lunch out after a movie together, for instance, or a shopping Saturday together. A gift of wanting to know: ask her to give you the gift of an interview. Have some questions ready, tape record or videotape her answers, and find out about her life. You might be astonished at the stories she has.
-
How about a gift to her favorite charity in her name?
-
A really pretty warm shawl , depending on her age. she could wear it as a wrap to go out in the evening.
