  • that's because people are becoming stupider and lazzier. they choose the first path that requires the least explanation
  • well, here come the DR's..... I think that a lot of people find life hard..and their religions give answers and comfort to their existence. I think that it is easier to believe that there is a supreme being looking after you than to feel like your life is really insignificant. I know people need answers and most religious books are written so as to be open to any interpretation one wants. I also think that science provides real answers..but little comfort to people.
  • I think evolutionist stopped answering those questions because it's just a wast of time using logic and fact to argue against blind faith based on a book written thousands of years ago. Then they just get down rated like I'm going to be in about 30 secs.
  • its there choice...for me its the wrong choice ...but hey if they want to believe in fairy stories ...goodonem and if they can prove this well then maybe I will listen but until then I still believe in cold hard facts that science can provide me with
  • I don't think there is a growing number of creationists. I think it's just a swan song- as the number of creationists dwindles, they get louder and more obnoxious.
  • A growing number? Where did you get your numbers? I haven't seen this anywhere.
  • wow...you guys all have really high levels...I'm not worthy of retort. Anyways, there is a lot more than two options out there.
  • Mass hysteria. Religion is contagious insanity.
  • I'm not sure if the number is growing or just getting louder - however... In our post-modern society where everything is shades of grey and relative, many people yearn for some stability, certainty and black-and-white answers. The creationists provide those answers and even couch them in technical sounding terms and scienc-y words. This seems to be extremely appealing to some folk and they latch on, not bothering to investigate whether there is an ounce of truth in it or not. Personally I think the folk producing the creationist materials/books/programs are low-life liars, power-hungry manipulators or just cynical a-holes. Just my opinion though... ;-)
  • Arahamic belief systems are in their death throes. Sadly, the rabid are eager to take everyone with them in their final blowout
  • It'd be nice if they weren't so hypocritical about science. Just about every advance they enjoy in society, came about because of science. But let science contradict a fairy tale they hold dear and all hell breaks loose.
  • This is what happens of believers in non-existent non-entities of nonsense. * It would be insult to monkeys & rats to say that religion makes monkeys or rats out of educated ‘e-literate’ people believing in gods, godp imps and peddlers of other superstitions.
  • Creationism is an American phenomenon. Among educated people outside of the US, it is seen as a ridiculous notion. It is the product of the power that primitive fundamentalist preachings have in the US. Throughout the history of the US there have been waves of religious fervor, coupled with anti-intellectualism. It has been postulated that these movements give a sense of empowerment to the poorly educated over the intellectual elite. It certainly brings power (and wealth) to the preachers pushing this pseudo-science. +5
  • I'm currently reading the book "Mere Christianity" by C.S.Lewis. It was written in the 1940's. Lewis has done a lot of study and research, and he make some points in the book that makes it easy to see that Creation makes sense and everything else is illogical. Maybe other people are looking for answers and finding information such as this to be the answers they are looking for.
  • "Growing number of creationists", what, along with falling church attendances?
  • The 'creationists' can't see that to the others, they are as stupid today as they were then. The changing times have just passed them by! How embarrassing!
