To more easily stalk said individual.
-
For me, I use it so that I can more easily keep track of said user's activity.
-
Because they write good questions and answers.
-
to make it easy for them. they can stab you in the back more readily.. no searching, no hunting, just , wham, there you are in their cross hairs. Point and click.
-
The person must've seemed friendly and easy to communicate with :-)

I think this is a great question! I recently was unable to be on AB, I could only watch things going on. So I took on a different view of some of the AB'ers. I want my friend list to consist of AB'ers who help each other, no matter what level they are. Who take the time to remember to be kind!:):)
-
Because they're funny.
-
I have two people on my "friends" list. I did not approve them, they just showed up there.
-
Because they make me happy
-
If I'm generally interested in what they have to say or just have fun talking to them, it's easier to keep track of them.
-
So I can keep track of all the cool people I hang out with on AB. ;)
-
Usually it's because we have gotten to know each other through comments/answers/questions etc. Also I could just enjoy reading their material for a good laugh or because I think of them as informative or well-informed.
-
When they give good answers to my questions, and when they actually comment on the answers that I give to their own questions.
-
Usually a good conversation in the comments.
-
When I've seen them around, liked their questions, answers and comments, and they're NOT currently on my friends' list. To be honest, I probably approve more friends than I ask.
-
If I've had an interchange with someone and I feel we've got some things in common or I love their questions and would enjoy being able to find them easily, or even just a very interesting new person around.
-
I'm impulsive with it, but if I like their Q&A or a comment, I'll request a friendship.
-
If I like thier questions, answers or comments.:-)+
-
If I've answered a lot of their questions, if they've answered a lot of my questions, or if we've had a good conversation in the comments.
-
If they've been giving good answers to my or other questions or conversely asking god questions themselves.
-
Someone who I see on here a lot, and have good Q&A. I think I added you because I love your name. I like how you change it. It's cute.
-
I think I've only requested around 4 or 5 people. The reason I did so was....well heck, for different reasons for all. I think the first two ladies and I hit it off when I first got here though I can't recall who asked who. The second, (I think I was the one asked) I have a soft spot for artists with a heart and he fit the bill. The third guy, a lad from the UK, well...either he hasn't been back since the request (it was a couple of weeks ago) or I was denied. I have no fear of rejection around here so, no big whoop. And lastly, there was a young lady a couple of days ago who asked this (http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/3491281) question and so I requested her! Oh! There was another guy I requested, yesterday I think, he's a student majoring in Poly/Sci whose point of view I rather enjoyed. This is probably a more in depth answer than most, (though I can’t say for sure, I haven’t read the others) but it’s easy for me to do so since I’ve only been here for one month! Ahhh, the memories... ;)

They all have to HATE Dr.Laura & Dr.Phil as much or more then I do.
-
i have people on my list that just added me:). I dont "know" them at all really. One guy flirts w/ me all the time, and he know's im married lol.
-
I like to be able to look through questions posted by them. That way I don't always have to deal with everyone.
