Goats milk is a very healthy way to nourish a baby. Its available in any grocery store. If you or someone you knows cannot afford formula... and you live in the united states of america there is free formula available at any WIC center. You will find WIC litsed in any phone book or call your Ped doctor and ask for the number.

I would talk to your Doctor. It really depends on how old your baby is. My first instinct if breast milk or formula is not available would be to use homogenized milk, especially if your baby is under 6 months of age. If your baby is older, then you should start with Rice flour mixed with water. Rice is recommended as baby's first cereal.

Alive? Only for a while. Healthy? No. Not enough calories, fat, minerals, or vitamin B12--the child would die of malnutrition. And where on earth is formula not available? Where it isn't, milk from various animals is. Where there aren't, there would be local women you could hire.
